Anarchist Ultimatum to Government FOUR HUNDRED DEAD Assassination of Cabinet Minister Reported APPEAL TO THE WORKERS By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. (Received May 7, 8.25 p.m.) London, May 7. A message from Perpignan, France, states that the anarchists again are proving dangerous in Catalonia. They presented an ultimatum to the Government demanding the dissolution of the shock troops within 24 hours. An anarchist radio broadcast declared that 400 were killed and 100 wounded in street fighting in Barcelona. The workers were urged not to demonstrate publicly, as sufficient blood had flowed. It is reported that the SecretaryGeneral of the Confederation of Workers, Senor Seze, who recently was appointed to Cabinet, was shot dead. The Perpignan correspondent of the ‘■Daily Telegraph” reports that Senor Aseas'so. chief of the Aragon anarchists, also was assassinated. APPEAL TO THE LEAGUE Spanish Foreign Minister London, May 6. A message from Geneva states that the Spanish Foreign Minister, Senor del Vayo, has decided to appeal to the League of Nations against continued intervention in the Spanish War by Italy and Germany, and is urging the council to send a commission to investigate the Spanish Government's allegations. It is reported from Paris that, in an interview before his departure for Valencia, Senor del Vayo declared that ‘‘the most authoritative interpretation of the Italo-German conversations, which coincides with my information, suggests the certainty that we are on the eve of new Italo-German acts of war on a big scale. BILBAO REFUGEES Four Thousand Evacuated Bilbao, May 6. Four thousand refugees, mainly children. were evacuated aboard the steamer Habana and the steam yacht Gaizekoizarra. Government warships escorted the refugee ships to the threemile limit, where they were handed over to H.M.S. Royal Oak and two British destroyers. It is reported that the rebel cruiser Almirante Cervera appeared out of the mist and endeavoured to cross the course of the convoy, but that the Royal Oak signalled to the Almirante Cervera. which turned back. The British Consul at Palma has transmitted to London a warning by the Spanish insurgent admiral that he is mining a four-mile bolt at Bilbao, Santander, Gijon and Aviles. The Spanish steamer Habana, with refugees from Bilbao, has arrived at La Rochelle, France.
