A Good Omen
While Napoleon 111 was proceeding to his coronation with the Empress Eugene, the crown fell out of the coach. Napoleon was much startled, and declared it a bad omen. A small boy, however, picked up the crown and handed it to the Empress, who said: “Behold! It is no omen; see. we receive the crown from the hands of the people!”—Detective Lloyd (17), Wellington.
