Have you ever wondered why buttercups, those glistening, waxen wee flowers, are yellow? There no telling what wonderful secret may be behind it, but as no one will ever be able to tell us for certain, it would be great fun just to make up your own explanation. You can do this in the form of a story, of a paragraph, or of a verse, and you can play make-believe as much as you like. Members, this is going to be great fun! —why, you can go on the most wonderful cruise into the realm of fancy and dreams, and who knows what thrilling ideas you may come back with? Tell me your ideas of why buttercups are golden, and star points will be given for the most original entries. This should be a good chance for those who haven’t many points to gain another one. And don’t forget, please—entries in by Wednesday!
