“ God And My Life”
“Once a week read through I Corinthians xiii in Moffatt’s translation. Then let it read you, particularly verses 4 to 8. Here they are :— “ ‘Love is very patient, very kind. Love knows no jealousy. Love makes no parade, gives itself no airs, is never rude, Never selfish, never irritated, never resentful: Love is never glad when others go wrong, love is gladdened by goodness, always slow to expose, always eager to believe the best. . . .” “Now substitute T for ‘love,’ thus:— “ ‘I am very patient, very kind, I know no jealousy, I make no parade, I give myself no airs, am never rude, never self ish, never imitated.’ . . . etc. “Can you do it? “It’s very searching! Henry Drummond said a man once road this chapter once a week for three months and it changed his life. It will change your life too if you will do it. You might begin by reading it every day, particularly the verses we have just considered. Get these ingredients into your life. It is worth doing—worth spending time on, for love is the greatest thing in the world.”—From “Goi and My Life,” by the Rev, 11. Mortimer Sinfield.
