AMBERLEY MEETING

Horses Who May Be Well Supported Dominion Special Service. Christchurch, May 7. The Amberley Racing Club’s annual race meeting will be held at Amberley tomorrow. The weather promises to be tine, and the track will be in excellent order. The following horses are likely to be well supported:— Novice Stakes. —Jed Forest and the Aggravate—Comus bracket. Brackenfield Highweight Handicap.— Great Star and Top Rank. Teviotdale Trot.—Jovial and Bughie Wrack. Glasnevin Handicap,—Rebel Chief and Fiord. Starky Memorial.- —Dictate and Rousseau. • • Seadown Handicap.—Owls Gleam and Wine Card. Amberley Handicap—Ponty and Golden Dart. . Kowai Trot. —Stylish Boy and Jovial. Swordstick will not be a starter in the Glasnevin Handicap. Arctic Star, who raced previously jn the colours of Mrs. Shiel, Dunedin, will 1 be raced in future by Mr. A. Syme, owner of Royal Limond and Owls Gleam. The last named and Arctic Star will thus be bracketed on the totalisator for the S?adown Handicap. Other bracketed horses in the programme-are:—Aggravate and Comus in the Novice Stakes, and Wino and Full Throttle in the Glasnevin Handicap. ' ' Jed Forest, whose gallop yesterday will bring him into favour for the Novice Stakes, is a four-year-old gelding by PinkCoat from Lady Peters, a St. Petersburg mare not named in the Stud Book. He is owned bv Mr. J. Stafford, and is trained by H. arid A. Cutts. Jed Forest has only had one race, at the last Grand National meeting. The card is as follows: —

H. E. Bussell’s Team. The Woodville trainer H. E. Russell leaves for Sydney by the Wanganella next Thursday.
