MEAT FOR EXPORT
Waitara Consignment to Come to Wellington By Telegraph—Press Association. New Plymouth, May 7. A shortage of shipping to convey frozen meat to Britain will result in the Waitara freezing works, where storage accommodation is taxed to capacity, sending a heavy consignment to Wellington this week-end to catch an available ship. Two special trains totalling 55 wagons will carry the meat from Waitara on Sunday in time to be loaded in the Doric Star, scheduled to leave Wellington on Monday for Lyttelton. The next vessel to load at New Plymouth will not arrive until May 17.
