Parliamentary Conference Discussion ' (Received May 6, 11.20 p.m.) London, May 6. The need for maintaining Empire shipping was one of the topics dealt with Jiy the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade, Dr. E. L. Burgin, at a private session of the Empire Parliamentary Conference. He analysed the problems of keeping trade routes open, the prevention of discrimination against Britain, and indicated ways in which other Empire countries could assist. The Minister of Agriculture, Mr. W. S. Morrison, outlined Britain’s policy to protect her agriculture. One of the New Zealand delegates, Mr. W. J. Broadfoot, took part in the discussion.
