Sir John Lamb, K.C.8., LL.D., a former Under-Secretary of State for Scotland, who, with his brother, Mr. D. Lamb, has been touring New Zealand, left Wellington yesterday in the R,angitane for London. Mr. J. K. M. Greer, Tiinaru, is visiting Wellington. The Rev. D. Fitzgerald. Christchurch, returned south last night, Mr. J. R. McKenzie returned to Christchurch last night. Mr. C. E. H. Ball, Wellington, returned yesterday from the South Island. Mr. and Mrs. I’. L. McLaren, Masterton, left yesterday by the Rangitane for London. Mr. Cecil Marks, Sydney, general manager of United Artists (Australasia), Ltd., is visiting Wellington. The Rev. E. O. Blamlres, Wellington, was a passenger for the south last night. Mr. 11. P. Lawry, S.M., has been appointed a member Af the Pahiatua Licensing Committee. Mr. R. Souter, Napier, passed through Wellington yesterday on his return home from Dunedin. Lieutenant-Colonel N. Fitzherbert, C.M.G., C.8.E., who has been on a visit to New Zealand, left yesterday in the Rangitane on his return to London. Captain H. Monro, of the Canterbury Steamship Company, and Mrs. Monro left Wellington for the south by the steamer express last night. Mr. H. A. Beauchamp, managing director of Kodak (New Zealand), Ltd., arrived at Wellington«by the Limited express from Auckland yesterday. Mr. S. H. Davenport, Epsom, Auckland, accompanied by his wife and daughter, left for England by the Rangitane yesterday. Mr. H. von Haast, pro-chancellor of the University of New Zealand, who is to confer the degrees at Canterbury University College to-day (graduation day), left for the south last night. Mr. W. H. Shrubsail, Lower Hutt, head of the engineering department of the Shell Co. of New Zealand, Ltd., left Wellington by the Rangitane yesterday for London. He was accompanied by his wife and family. Mr. G. H. Holford, Remuera, has left Auckland to attend the annual convention of the Natural Fertiliser Association of America at White Sulphur Springs, Virginia. He is accompanied by Mrs. Holford. Messrs. A. G. Nolan, J. H. Reid, and R. H. Wicksteed have been reappointed members of the Gisborne Land Board. Mr. O. H. Orr has been reappointed a member of the Hawke's Bay Land Board. Messrs. J. T. Love and G. Wright, Dunedin, arrived at Wellington from the south yesterday to discuss matters in connection with the housing scheme in Dunedin with the departmental authorities. Mr. K. E. Parker, London, who has spent several weeks in New Zealand on a combined business and holiday trip, left Wellington by the Rangitane yesterday on his return to London. He was accompanied by Mrs. Parker.

Wing Coi/ninnder the Hon. R. A. Cochrane, Chief of Air Staff, Wing Commander T. JI. Wilkes. Chief Staff Officer (Equipment), and Squadron Leader L. M. Isitt, Chief Staff Officer (Personnel), arrived at Wellington from Wigram yesterday. Mr. J. A. Lee, Parliamentary Undersecretary in Charge of Housing, will leave Wellington for Auckland to-night on official business Mr. Lee, who will also spend some time in his electorate of Grey Lynn, will take the opportunity of delivering an address to his constituents. He expects to return to Wellington about the end of next week’. Mr. L. G. Lowry, M.P. for Otaki, has been appointed a member of the Otaki Licensing Committee
