Many motorists who use their cars for shopping expeditions have found it a good idea to take the family dog with them to act as guardian, and save them the trouble of locking the car at each stop. Passers-by in High Street, Christchurch, recently noticed a new type of guardian and a small crowd collected round a handsome limousine. Clutching the rim of the steering wheel firmly in its claws a beautiful cockatoo looked quizzically at the interested spectators. The bird nodded its head to the crowd and seemed to be thoroughly enjoying no experience.
