Lyceum Club Evening

Scenes and songs from Shakespeare comprised the delightful programme that was presented to a large and enthusiastic audience at the Lyceum Club last night An excerpt from “As You Like It” was given by Miss Catherine Keddell (Celia), Mrs. Frickleton (Rosalind), and Mr. Eric North (Duke Frederick). A scene from “The Tempest” was read by Mrs. J. C. Andersen (Caliban), Miss L. O’Donoghue (Stephana), and Mrs. Willoughby (Trincula), and the garden scene from “Two Gentlemen of Verona” was given by Mrs. G. Berry (Lady Julia) and Mrs. J. H. Thompson (Lucetta, her maid). Two scenes from “The Merry Wives of Windsor” were presented by Miss M. E. P. Ahern (Mistress Page) and Miss L. O’Donoghue (Mistress Ford), and “The Merchant of Venice” excerpt was acted by Mrs. G. Berry (Portia) and Mrs. Masters XNerissa).

The scenes from all these plays had been arranged and produced by Miss Hardinge Maltby.

Songs were given by Mrs. Oronquest (the music being specially written by Mrs. C. W. Taylor). Miss Doris Black and Mi> Doogan. Supper was served at the conclusion, of the evening.
