For the past 40 years a citrus tree growing in an Otahuhu garden, Auckland, lias produced a crop of lemons like any normal lemon tree, but this year, to vary the monotony, it Ims burst, forth with a yield of both lemons ami. poorman oranges. Last season the tree produced its usual crop of lemons, and then it was cut down to the stump, and has sprouted forth again. Ou inspecting the "lemon” tree one flay recently. the owner was surprised to see the free bearing poorman oranges, and closer inspection proved that it also bore lemons. The yield of the tree is up to normal standard, and the fruit is well formed. The owner has high hopes of gathering equal quantities of each variety of citrus from the tree. a s there is little difference in the number of fruit of each variety on the branches.
