Wellington Markets Quiet GOVERNMENT LOANS WANTED Business on the Wellington Stock Exchange was more active yesterday, re^ r ‘ ] ed sales covering 22 parcels totalling 18a0 shares. Six parcels of bank shares sold at steady rater?, and three lots of South British Insurance totalling aOO snares sold at from 95/- to 94/8. There was again a keen demand for Government loans, but buyers were little disposed to advance their offers and sellers held off. . Shipping shares were firm, but industrial and trading issues were still diepoe; ed to lag- G- J. Coles were done at £o 4/9 to £5/5/- Broken Hill Proprietary remained easy and Zincs and Mount Lyells were weak. No interest was shown in gold mining shares.
