MONDAY’S WRESTLING
The packed house at the Town Hall ou Monday night, when Wellington wrestling patrons turned out in force despite the fact that the season has barely started, was evidence of the extent to which the sport has “taken on” iu the city. Next Monday night a popular favourite of four seasons ago, Hal Runiberg, will make the first appearance of his present tour of the Dominion. His opponent will be Ray Richards, another new face for local patrons, but a wrestler whose position among the best of hiw profession is assured. When Rtunberg appeared iu the ring on Monday night the rousing reception he received left no doubts of the Wellington public’s pleasure at seeing him back again. Those who saw’ him on Monday noticed (hat he had retained his splendid physical shape. Richards is another man of magnificent build. He weighs over 17 stone and is more than 6ft. tall, so that he will be conceding little, if anything, to Runiberg. The fact that ho has beaten men like Nick Lutze. Ali Baba, E<l "Strangler” Lewis, and Dick Sldkat leaves no doubts as to his wrestling ability.
