CALEDONIAN SOCIETY

Successful Ingleside

An enjoyable evening was spent at the Caledonian Society's ingleside, which was held in Wellington recently. Several items were given throughout the evening, including dances, songs and band numbers. Music was provided by the pipe band, and Mrs. E. McGowan was at the piano. During the evening, Mrs. Hoy sang “Angus McDonald” and “Margory Green”; Mrs. H. MeWhiunie, “Spinning Wheel” and “Sing, Sing Birds on the Wing”; and Mr. W. Church, “In An Old-Fashioned Town” and “Hail Caledonia.” The reel o’ tulloeh and highland reel were danced by Misses L.

Kerr, E. Whitelaw, P. McKinnon and N. McDonald, the double sword dance and highland Hing were performed by Misses E. Whitelaw and P. McKinnon, the scan trinbliais and highland Hing by Miss Leah Kerr, and Miss Shona Bennetts did a tap dance. The selections given by the pipe band were: “Lord Lovatt’s Lament,” “Highland Whisky,” “The High Road to Linton,” and “Lochanside.”
