Hospital Fees
Bjr,—-3lr. A. H. Carman has given us a comparison regarding hospital fees in your issue of Saturday, but this comparison can be of value only if it shows the actual fees collected in comparison with the full fees collectable under the board’s schedule of charges. » To compare the actual fees collected with the estimated collections, gets us nowhere, for the estimate made by the board’s officers can be merely a percentage of the fees which would be charged under the scale. In making an estimate, the board’s officers would be guided by the actual experience of collections in previous years. No doubt Mr. Carman intended to be helpful, but his comparisons, as published, are apt fx> mislead.— I am, etc.. W.A.T. Wellington, April 17.
