WATER CONSERVATION

Committee Appointed in Britain (British Official Wireless.) (Received April 16, 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, April 15. The Minister of Health, Sir Kingsley Wood, after consultation with other Government departments, has appointed a Central Water Advisory Committee under the chairmanship of Field-Mar-shal Lord Milne, and comprising persons with knowledge of the problems from the point of view of various interests concerned to advise the Government departments on questions relating to the conservation and allocation of water resources. It is expected that the committee will consider in the first place necessary measures for modernisation of the law relating to w-.ter supply and for the conservation and use of water so that the resources of the country may bo used to the best advantage.
