kfligious services. J 0.0. F. HALL, ALLEN STREET. THE THIRD LECTURE of the series under the title of “WHY THE BIBLE IS THE WORD OF GOD,” will be delivered (God willing) in the above hall 011 SUADAY at 7 P.M., when the subject will be: “ FULFILMENT OF PROPHECY PROVES THE BIBLE TO BE THE WORD OF GOD.” “WE HAVE ALSO A MORE SURE WORD OF PROPHECY, WHEREUNTO YE DO WELL THAT YE TAKE HEED. . . (IX Peter 2:19.) This Sunday remarkable Bible prophecies concerning the Nation of Israel and its God-given land, Palestine, will be considered, and it will be shown: (1) THAT Bible prophecies, some of which were recorded 1400 years before fulfilment, and all of which were recorded hundreds of years before fulfilment, clearly state that because of disobedience of Divine law the Nation of Israel would be cast out of the Land of Palestine and would “bo removed into all the kingdoms of the earth,” “scattered among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other,” to "become an astonishment, a proverb and a byword among all nations,” and that Israel’s land (Palestine) would, while the nation was scattered, be “desolate and its cities waste.” (Lev. 26:27-33, Dent. 4-27, Dent. 28:25, 37, 63-67, I Kings 9’6-9, II Chr. 7:19-22, Jer. 9:16, Jer. 24:9-10, Jer. 29:17-19, Eze. 6-8-10, Eze. 12:15, Hosea 9:17, Jer. 30:11, etc.) (2) THAT as the history of the World for the past 1900 years is evidence of the fact that all these prophecies have been literally and completely fulfilled it follows that the Book recording these prophecies (the Bible) is what Christ and Paul and all the Apostles claimed it to be—THE WORD OF GOD. (Hebs. 1:1, II Tim. 3:16, II Pet. 1:21, Acts 24:14, Acts 26:22, Matt. 22:29, John 10:35, Luke 24:27, Luke 24:44-46, John 5:46-47, etc.) (3) IT also follows that this accurate fulfilment of prophecy in the past creates complete confidence in prophecy relating to the future —prophecy which state’s that in the purpose of God the scattered nation of Israel will be restored to Palestine, where, under the rulership of Jesus Christ returned to earth, it will become the greatest nation upon earth and the centre of the universal KINGDOM OF GOD, then established on earth by Jesus Christ. (Roms. 11:1-2, Jer. 31:10, Jer. 31:27-28, Jer.. 30:3, Jer. 33:7-26, Eze. 28:25-26, Eze. 34:12-15, Eze. 36:22-38, Hosea 3 :4-5, Jer. 46:27-28, Eze. 20:33-44, Eze. 37:21-22, Luke 1:31-33, Eze. 21:27, Micah. 4:6-8, Micah. 5:2, Matt. 19 :28, Rev. 11:15, Acts 17:31, etc.) “THEY (the Jews) SHALL BE LED AWAY CAPTIVE INTO ALL NATIONS AND JERUSALEM SHALL BE TRODDEN DOWN OF THE GEN’ r LES UNTIL THE TIMES OF THE GENTILES BE FULFILLED.” (Jesus —Luke 21:24.)
