Her subject will be “The Romantic Composers,” and pianoforte illustrations will be given from the works of Schubert, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Chopin, and Liszt. In the succeeding Lecture-recitals Madame Betts-Vineent will deal with Russian Music. Modern French Composers, and Some British Composers, and there will be vocal as well as pianoforte illustrations. Shelley will commence a short course of Four Lectures on “Art and Life” (illustrated) in the Lecture Hall of the Dominion Museum. Buckle St. (entrance from East side of building) at S p.m. In the introductory lecture Prof. Shelley will deal with "The Origins of Art.” and he will show a number of tine lantern slides. Lockhart, M.A., will give the opening lecture in a series of ten on “Man and His Environment.” This course will show Mau’s relation to the flora and fauna of the world around, and will be illustrated with lantern slides. On THURSDAYS, at the same hour and place, Mr. W. J. Scott, M.A., will give a course of ten lectures on Modern Literature, which will include many of the leading British writers.
