The Destructor Ultimately to be Dennd.— At its meeting last night, Hie Wellington City Council approved a recommendation from the Works Committee that the refuse destructor (above) in Hie corporation yard at Clyde Quay should be demolished at the expiration of six years. Refuse is now partly disposed of by Hie Bradford system of dumps, but Hie destructor will remain a necessity in connection with Hie present system until the new sewerage scheme, for which a recent loan poll was carried, is in operation.
