Vehicles in Recreation Area. Motorists and cyclists taking their vehicles into the Petoue Recreation Ground recently have caused a certain amount of trouble. As this is an infringement of the by-law, the Petone Borough Council has been forced into issuing a warning, and it is intended to prosecute offenders in the future. Some cyclists, it is reported, make almost a habit of riding through tbe grounds. Electricity Consumers. Forty-'three new consumers were connected during the month of March, with a further 42 additions to existing installations, stated Mr. E. F. Hollands, engineer and general manager to the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board, in his report to the monthly meeting of the board yesterday afternoon. The totals for the year ended March 31, 1937, were: Consumers, 12,823 ; ranges installed, 2242; water heaters connected, 2012; connected load in k.w.. 51,768. Saturday Closing at Upper Hutt Sir, —I would like to let you know that all the grocers, butchers and babel's of Upper Hutt are well satisfied with the change of half-holiday.
