FAREWELL DANCE

Between seventy and eighty young people attended a most pleasant farewell party and dance given at the Scorching Bay Cabaret last night by Mr. G. D. Blandford, who is leaving Wellington to live in Auckland. Dancing took place in the main room, and supper was served in the fern-bedecked supper room downstairs. The cabaret was decorated with coloured streamers. During the evening the guests all took the opportunity of bidding farewell to Mr. Blandford, and wishing him every success in the future.

Mrs. Hugh McGill will leave Auckland next week for 'Wellington, and will spend six months here. Interest is already being aroused in the Coronation Ball, which will take place at St. Francis Hall in Coronation week. Those who enjoy a ballet will be interested to learn th.at Miss Dorothy Daniels, who has just returned from a refresher course in Australia, is organising a ballet, and Miss Phyllis Bates has kindly consented to give an exhibition dance with her partner. The hon. secretary reports that applications for tickets are coming in steadily and it is anticipated that the Coronation Ball will be the event of the wook.
