Wellington Markets Quiet BANKS MORE ACTIVE There was little change yesterday in the Wellington stoek and share markets. More interest was shown in banks, which were generally firm, New selling at 45/-. Government stocks were again in active demand, but business was restricted to two small parcels. Industrials were generally easy, hut Electrolytie Zines showed a slightly better tone. Broken Hill Proprietary sold at 82/3. but in Christchurch dealings were reported at from 81/6 to 81/3. British Tobaccos sold at 51/- and buyers stayed in at 50/6. The Svoolworths issues were all on the firm side, with a fairly good turnover.
