“GIVE MY LOVE TO ALL’’
Duke Of Windsor’s Farewell
When the Princess Royal and her husband, the E.arl of Harewood, left Vienna for home recently the Duke of Windsor, whom they had been visiting, kissed bis sister on both cheeks. Tears were in her eyes, said the “Sunday Express” Vienna correspondent. Then he shook hands with the earl, saying, “Give my love to all.”
The Duke stood alone on the platform, waving until the train was out of sight. No definite decisions about the future of the Duke of Windsor or of his relations with the Royal Family were taken during the visit. But it appears that the Duke has received a request to postpone his wedding to Mrs. Wallis Simpson until after the coronation of King George VI. Edward is believed to be in favour of the plan if it will ensure that members
of his own family will be present at his wedding. It is believed that‘the Duke has been requested to relinquish his private estates in England as a gesture loward emphasising bis intention not to return to the homeland. The Duke’s own wish is that a trust fund be created, with the income from it under his own control. Such an arrangement would permit him to make provision for his own wife and family. The Duke has readily stated that he has no intention to return to England in the early future, except possibly for short visits. Consequently he has no intention of claiming a seat in the House of Lords.
He does wish to make clear, how ever, that his future wife should be accorded tlie full title and privileges ol his rank.
