NURSES’ HOSTEL
State Dental Service Trainees GHUZNEE STREET HOUSE By Tuesday 56 young women training as State dental nurses will have taken up residence in “The Mansions," Ghuznee Street, Wellington. The Government has leased the property as a hostel for the student nurses while they are undergoing instruction before being sent to minister as dentists to children attending the primary schools of the Dominion.
Alterations and improvements are being made to "The Mansions” to make the building thoroughly comfortable for the trainees. Twenty-nine young women took up their quarters in the building last Wednesday, and by Tuesday another 27 will be accommodated there, bringing the total to 56, the full complement which the property will house. “The Mansions” being large and airy and centrally situated, should make an ideal hostel for the students. The matron is Miss E. Pengelly, of Wanganui.
