NOT TO BE ALLOWED IN OTHER HANDS General Hertzog’s View By Telegraph.—Press .‘.ssn.—Copyright. (Received April 1, 11 P-m-) Cape Town, April 1. The Prime Minister. General J. B. Hertzog, replying to Opposition criticism that the Government was neglecting South West Africa owing to lack of a definite policy, said the Government regarded South West Africa as a natural part of the Union. “We are not prepared to allow it to fall into other hands” he said. "The Government’s policy is that it should not be restored to Germany.” He added that the Government had always Taken the view that the problem of South West Africa was a psychological one and should be solved In cooperation with Germany. He hoped it would be thus solved and that when the mandate expired South West Africa would take its natural place as part of the Union. In the meantime, the Government would see that the territory was properly governed.
