He alleges that all the firm’s branches worked on behalf of the British Secret Service and were the headquarters of British officers and espionage agents linked up with a view to plans for a British invasion of Abyssinia. EXPLANATION WANTED -. -e Notice to Indian Stores London, March 31. The British Government has requested an explanation from Italy of the order to quit served on the Indian stores company in Abyssinia. The company was told on March 6 that it must close down within a time limit of eighteen days. After strong representations by the British Consuls at Addis Ababa and in Rome the time limit was extended indefinitely, but no explanation was given.
