Drastic Dieting For Eighteen Days Loses You Stones In Weight

'PHE eighteen-day diet, one of the most drastic methods of slimming, is described in the concluding article of this series. Before undertaking it, be sure that you need it. It is not suitable for frail women and even the robust should make wisdom the better part of selfdiscipline if the diet seems to be weakening them unduly. Consult a doctor if you are in any doubt.

T’HE breakfast menu is the same each x day, i.e., one half grapefruit, and coffee without sugar. Other meals are:—

First Day.—Luncheon: 4 grapefruit, 1 egg, 1 slice Melba toast. C slices cucumber, tea or coffee. Dinner: 2 eggs, 1 tomato, 4-head lettuce, 4 grapefruit. Second Day.—Luncheon : I orange, 1 egg, 1 slice Melba toast, lettuce, tea. Dinner: Grilled steak (plain), 1 tomato, 4 lettuce, 4 grapefruit, tea. Third Day.—Luncheon: 4 grapefruit, 1 egg, lettuce, 8 slices cucumber, tea or coffee. Dinner: 1 lamb chop (trim fat before cooking), 2 olives, 1 egg, 4 grapefruit, lettuce, 3 radishes, tea or coffoc. Fourth Day.—Luncheon: Pot of cheese, 1 tomato, 1 slice Melba toast, i grapefruit, tea or coffee. Dinner: Grilled steak, 4 grapefruit, watercress. Fifth Day.—Luncheon: Orange, lettuce, one lamb chop, tea. Dinner: 4 grapefruit, 2 eggs, lettuce, tomato, tea. Sixth D«y.—Luncheon: Orange, tea. Dinner: Oiie poached egg, orange, 1 slice Melba toast, tea. Seventh day.—-Luncheon: 4 grapefruit, 1 tomato, 2 eggs, 2 olives, lettuce, coffee. Dinner: 2 chops, lettuce, 6 slices cucumber, 4 grapefruit, 2 olives, 1 tomato, tea or coffee. Eighth Day.—Luncheon: 1 grilled chop, grapefruit, lettuce, coffee. Dinner: 2 eggs, 4 grapefruit, plain spinach, 4 stalks asparagus, one slice Melba toast, tea.

Ninth Day.—l mneheon: I egg, 4 grapefruit, 1 tomato, tea. Dinner: Any meat, salad.

Tenth Day.—Luncheon: 4 grapefruit, 1 lamb chop, lettuce. Dinner: Repeat luncheon menu. Eleventh Day.—Luncheon: Anchovy toast, tea. Dinner: Grilled steak, tomato, celery, olives, tea. Twelfth Day.—Luncheon: J lobster, J grapefruit, biscuits, coffee. Dinner: 2 grilled chops, 1 tomato, 1 orange, 3 olives. Thirteenth Day.—Luncheon: I egg, grapefruit, 1 slice toast. Dinner: Grilled steak, grapefruit, lettuce, celery, coffee. Fourteenth Day.—Luncheon: 1 egg, 4 grapefruit, 1 slice toast, coffee. Dinner: Grilled steak, grapefruit, tomato, coffee.

Fifteenth Day.—Luncheon: 1 egg, 4 grapefruit, tomato, 1 slice Melba toast. Dinner: 2 chops with half a teaspoonful tomato catsup, 1 slice Melba toast, 4 grapefruit. Sixteenth Day.—Luncheon: 1 egg, J grapefruit, tomato. 1 slice Melba toast. Dinner: Same as fifteenth day. Seventeenth Day. — Luncheon: 1 chop, grapefruit, lettuce. Dinner: Grilled steak, tomato, celery, olives.

Eighteenth Day.—Luncheon: 1 egg, 2 tomatoes, 4 grapefruit, coffee. Dinner: 1 grilled fish, 4 grapefruit, plain spinach.

Melba toast is bread cut very thin and dried in the oven until it curls and is crisp and brown. Oranges and tomatoes may be substituted when grapefruit it not obtainable.

After the diet return fnirly gradually to normal meals. During it, do not over-exercise.
