On New Zealand Currency Basis

The Bank of New South Wales, Wellington, quoted the following rates for their purchases and sales of foreign exchange yesterday New Zealand Buying. Selling.

The Associated Banks (other than the Bank of New South Wales) quoted the following dollar rates yesterday on a New Zealand currency basis. They are subject to alteration without notice.

N.Z. Pound Abroad Based on figures quoted by the Bank of New South Wales, the New Zealand pound, compared with its original par value, is equivalent to approximately:— 10/1 in London. £l/0/1 in Australia.. 16/1} in U.S.A. 16/1 in Canada. 13/8} in France. 16/1} In Italy. 6/53 in Germany. 11/8} in Java. £l/8/1} in Japan. INCREASED PROFIT New Auckland Laundry, Ltd. Dominion Special Service. Auckland, March 31. The accounts of the New Auckland Laundry Ltd., for the year ended January 31 show a net profit of £3496 against £2727 iu the previous year. During the year the paid capital > has again been increased, rising Io £56,633 from £44,660. The directors recommend an unchanged dividend of 6 per cent, for the year.
