IN MOTOR-CAR CRASH

Canadian Quadruplets

Surviving a 40-mile dash through snow, during which the ambulance collided with a snowplough, three of four babies born to Mrs. Arcade Rondeau, wife of a farmer, died in a Montreal hospital. The quadruplets were prematurely born at St. Thomas, near Montreal, and were immediately christened in the village church. Then they were rushed to Montreal. The crash occurred 16 miles from the city. A nurse, a doctor, and the ambulance driver were seriously injured. As soon as the crash was reported a constable dashed to the scene and wrapped the quads in cotton wool. They were then taken ou to Montreal. The survivor was not expected to live. Mrs. Rondeau —the quads’ mother, who is 4(l—has ten children, three boys ami seven girls, ranging from one to 12 years.
