SHOT DEAD AT HOTEL

Wife of Major R. Godby

(Received March 29, 8.20 p.m.) London, March 28. Mrs. May Godby, aged 36, wife of Major Robert Godby, retired, was shot dead after a wedding reception at which they were guests at an hotel. She collapsed at. the feet of her husband, with whom she was seated at a table playing dominoes.

A fellow guest. Albert Boddy, 31 bricklayer, has been charged witli murder.

Major and Mrs. Godby returned on Friday from New Zealand after a year’s visit to Major Godby’s mother.
