Visit to New Zealand On a tour to obtain material for newspaper articles and books of travel, Mr. H. Priest, a contributor to several publications, arrived at Wellington from Jamaica by the Mataroa yesterday. It is his second voyage to New Zealand, and he will stay about a month in the Dominion to study the Maori race, and conditions of the country generally. Mr. Priest has written several volumes dealing witli Australian bush ami desert country, and lias made a study of racial conditions on several South Sea Islands, notably Tahiti, about which lie has also written. It was during his first trip to New Zealand that he became fascinated by the Maori race, and the information he gleaned, together with his knowledge of the historic Polynesian migration, provoked the desire to again delve into the past and present movements of the race.
