INCREASED PENSIONS

Saving to Hospital Board

A saving in relief payments to the Wellington Hospital Board of £2650 between August 31, 1936, and March 2 last as a result of the increase by the State of various pensions was reported last night by the social welfare officer. The savings comprised : —Invalidity pensions, £1620; old age, £570; widows’, £275; deserted wives, £lB5. Approxi’wiielx 300 cases have been affected.
