WIGRAM AERODROME
Captain R. A. Anderson To Be Adjutant Captain R. A. Anderson. M.C., has been appointed adjutant at Wigram Aerodrome. This was announced yesterday by the Minister of Defence, Hon. F. Jones. Born on June 11, 1897, Captain Anderson wa.s educated at Christchurch and the Royal Military College, Sandhurst. His first military service was as a lieutenant in the Camerouians (Scottish Rifles) and by 1927 he had attained the rank of captain. 2k year later he was regimental adjutant. From June 1921, to November, 1922, he was temporary staff captain, sth Indian Infantry Brigade, and the following year was acting staff captain, 15th Indian Infantry Brigade. Captain Anderson saw active service in France and Belgium during the World War from August, 1916, to November, 1918. He was severely wounded. In addition to the Great War Service Medal and the Victory Medal, lie was awarded the Military Cross. In 1923 he took part in the frontier operations at Kurdistan.
