Truck Climbs Bridge.— An adventure, which might well have resulted seriously, was experienced by the driver of this truck. Out of control, it swerved across the road at the approach to the bridge over the Manganui stream near Midhurst, Taranaki, and mounted the wooden stringer, finishing as the picture shows. There was a sheer fall of forty feet between the bridge and the rocky bed of the stream, but fortunately the truck came to rest without toppling over, and the driver escaped without injury.
