Recent Activities Recent Victoria League activities included an afternoon party given by the hostesses committee in honour of Mrs. P. Townsend, and the Misses P. and B. Townsend, Batlieastoii, Somerset, England. Mrs. Townsend’s daughters were members of the party of English schoolgirls who toured New Zealand and Australitt three years ago. So delighted were the girls with their trip to New Zealand, that they persuaded their mother to come out tutd bring them a second time. Another interesting visitor was .Miss J. Hall, Ayrshire, Scotland, who has come out to join the staff of the Wellington Technical College. The oppor-' i unity was taken to welcome back Mrs. Rodie and Mrs. J. Bennie, who gave interesting accounts of the hospitality they had received from Victoria League members in England. The tea arrangements were in the charge of Mesdames King, Fisher, Dunean and Hurst.

The monthly bridge afternoon arranged by the committee was held litis week, those having tables being: Mesdames A. Cramond, R. E. Robertson, Maurice Anderson, Corrigan, Doctor, Hanna and Ferrier Watson. The Victoria League room, where these parties were held, was beautifully decorated on both occasions with rose ami deep pink dahlias from Mrs. A. Warburton’s garden. The gatherings arranged for April include a book tea at the Pioneer Club and a large bridge party to be organised by the combined committees.
