The Earl of Ranl'urly. aide-de-camp to the Governor-General of Australia, Lord Gowrie. who has spent a tbreeweeks furlough in New Zealand, left Auckland by the Awatea on his return to Sydney.
Sir William Hunt, managing director of Wright. Stephenson and Co., Ltd., accompanied by Lady Hunt, left for the south by the steamer express last night. The Hon. Mr. Justice Johnston, who has been presiding over the sittings of the Court of Review at Auckland, returned to Wellington yesterday. Mr. M F. Woods. Invercargill, is visiting Wellington. Mr. M C. Mr. C. M. Bowden returned to Wellington yesterday from the north. Dr. Russell Chisholm. Palmerston North, left for the south last night. Mr. S. Levin. Dunedin, arrived at Wellington from the south yesterday. Mr. J. J. Evans. Wellington, returned from the South Island yesterday. The Hon F. Waite. M.L.C.. was a passenger by the steamer express from the south yesterday.

Mr. C. P. Agar. Christchurch, arrived at Wellington yesterday from the South Island.
The Hon. D. Buddo. M.L.C.. was a passenger for the south last night by the steamer express.
Mr. 11. A. Gilbert, managing editor of the “New Zealand Motor 'World.” Wellington, is visiting Christchurch, where he will stay some days.
The Rev. Clyde Carr, M.P. for Tim.aru and president of the Now Zealand Labour Party, arrived at Wellington yesterday from the South Island.
Mr. D. Jones, a member of the Executive Commission of Agriculture, arrived at Wellington from the south yesterday.
Mr. A. Deride. manager of the Southland Frozen Moat Company, Ltd.. Invercargill. who has been on a business visit to Wellington, returned south last night.
Mr. P. Henry, Sydney, who hits been appointed manager of the Hotel St. George, Wellington, arrived at Auckland by the Awatea. He is accompanied by Mrs, Henry.
Mr. H. G. Johnston. Napier, has been appointed inspector of schools at Wellington in place of Mr. H. C. N. Watson, who was recently appointed senior inspector at Nelson.
Mr. G. A. Lewin, a director of the board of management of the State Advances Corporation, accompanied by Mrs. Lewin, left for the South Island last night.
Dr. V. F. A. O'Neill, senior honorary surgeon of Townsville District Hospital, Queensland, arrived at Auckland by the Awatea from Australia on a brief holiday visit to New Zealand.
Messrs. H. Adam. H. Speight. A. Lonisson and A. S. Duncan, directors of New Zealand Breweries. Ltd., paid a brief visit to Wellington yesterday, and left last, night for the South Island.
Mr. H. F. Herbert. Christchurch, will leave on Saturday on a visit to Great Britain and the Continent. He will attend the Empire conference of justices of the pence in England, and the annual convention of Rotary Interna tionnl at Nice.
Mr. J. Duckworth and Mr. A, W. McKay-Menzies, members of the Rochdale Borough Council, a municipality near Manchester. arrived at Wellington in the ‘Wanganella yesterday from Sydney. They are on holiday and expect to - remain in the Dominion for a month.
Mr. A. H. Johnstone, K.C., has been elected vice-president of the Auckland University College Council in succession to Mr. H. J. D. Mahon, who has been elected nresident.. The retiring president. Mr. T. U. Wells, and Professor Alaxwell Walker have been appointed to the education committee.
Mr. A. T. Donnelly. Christchurch, chairman of the New Zealand Cricket Council, who met the Marylebone Cricket Club touring team on its arrival nt Wellington yesterday, left for the south last night with the team for the match against the combined Canterbury and Otago team at Lancaster Park. Christchurch. to-morrow.
Mr. Charles Morris, managing director of Kirkcaldie and Stains. Ltd., Wellington. is to leave on a v'sit to Sydney and Melbourne by the Wanganella today. He will be accompanied by his sister. Miss Beatrice Morris, who will also visit friends in Perth. Western Australia.
Mr. .1. Becconsali left Christchurcm yesterday to represent the St. John Ambulance Brigade at the coronation, and also to attend the centenary celebrations of the brigade in London. Tills will bo flic third coronation that he has attended on public duty. Mr. Becconsali celebrates his fortieth year in ambulance work in June.
Mr. Edmund Godward, London manager of ihe Bank of Australasia, lias lieen elected to a seat on the board of the bank, to till a vacancy caused by the death of Lord Aldenhani. Mr. Godwand has been London manager for 14 years, having been appointed to that post from assistant manager in March, 1923.
Mr. C. L. Barbezat. London, who is making a business tour through the British Empire countries, arrived at Wellington yesterday by the Wanganella from Sydney, He is interested in dental supplies, and during his six weeks’ tour of the Dominion he intends to give lectures on technical matters to members of the profession.
Professor S. Steele, professor of engineering at Canterbury University College, was a passenger in the Wanganelbi which arrived at. Wellington from Sydney yesterday. He attended the conference of representatives of Australian and New Zealand Universities at Adelaide recently.
.Mr. John Farrell. representing J. C. Williamson Ltd., arrived in Wellington yesterday to complete arrangements for the Wellington season of Colonel de Basil's Monte Carlo Russian Ballet.
