Increase in Net Profit
Net profit of £89,895 is shown by Huddart, Parker, Ltd., for the year 1936, compared with £75.739 for 1935 and £83,774 for 1934. Ordinary dividend, is , increased to 71 per cent, (interim 3J, final 4). With preference dividend of 6 per cent., the distribution amounts to £56,250, and there is carried forward £55,724, against £52,079 brought into the account.
The report states that the company’s interest in Holyman s Airways Pty., Ltjl., has been transferred to Australian National Airways Pty., Ltd., which was formed in July last. The new steamer Adelong. arrived in September, and is proving a satisfactory addition to the company’s cargo fleet. Since the termination of the seamen's strike in February, 1936, all vessels have been fully employed, and passenger and cargo traffic has improved.
