“WILL MOST LIKELY BE ADMITTED”
Australia and Mrs. Freer
(Received March 12, 10.50 p.m.) Sydney, March 12. Federal Cabinet Ministers at Canberra were further questioned to-day on the case of Mrs. M. M. Freer. It was made clear that Cabinet’s decision yesterday is to “apply for the present only.” One Minister defined the attitude of Cabinet by saying that if a permit is sought later through the ordinary channels, without requesting the Government. to review its attitude, Mrs. Freer will most likely be admitted.
The Australian Prime Minister, Mr. J. A. Lyons, on Thursday, after Cabinet had discussed the application of Mrs. Freer’s solicitor for a review of _ the circumstances of the ban on her. declined to comment, other than to say the position at that stage was unchanged.
