WEDDINGS

Shepard—Bolton

The wedding took place tiiis week at Trinity Congregational Church, Worcester'Street, Christchurch, of Stanleye Ew.art Bolton, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Gardiner, ‘‘Brentwood,” Nelson, and -Mr. Arthur Robert Shepard, eldest son of Mr. Charles Shepard. Dunedin, and manager for the South Island for the J. C. ’Williamson Picture Corporation., Ltd., and manager of the Avon Theatre, Christchurch. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. D. Gardner Miller, and the church was effectively decorated with autumntinted flowers. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr. Pat Duggan,- Gore, wore a navy ensemble, the frock having a deep yoke of pastel pink, handsome furs, and a smart navy hat. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations. She was attended by her sister, Miss Olsa Gardiner, who wore a grey tailored suit and brown blouse and hat. and carried a bouquet of autumn-tinted flowers. Mr. Harry Waters was best man. The wedding reception was held at the bridegroom’s home, 49 St. Andrew's Square, where relatives and intimate friends of the bride and bridegroom were entertained. Mrs. James Gardiner, the bride's mother, wore a navy ensemble, with touches of red. and a navy bat. She carried a bouquet of red roses. Mrs. A. F. Cbidgey, aunt of the bride, wore a black frock, fur stole, and black hat. and carried a bouquet of red roses and enrna lions. Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Shepard will make their home in Christchurch.
