Melbourne Test Decides the Series
DON BRADMAN’S SCORES
The Melbourne Test is the deciding one of the series. Each side has gainec two victories, and this game, to be fought to a finish, will decide the Ashes which W. M. Woodfull’s 1934 side re covered at the Oval.
Results of the four Tests played by G. O. Allen’s team in Australia are: First, at Brisbane.—England won by 322 runs. Second, at Sydney.—England won by an innings and 22 runs. Third, at Melbourne. —Australia wou by 365 runs. Fourth, at Adelaide. —Australia won by 148 runs. Position of the countries since they first met in international cricket at Melbourne, in March, 1877: —
Don Bradman has made seven scores of 200 or over in Tests against England and 27 in first-class cricket. On three occasions he has scored a double century in successive Tests. He did thi? on the last two tours of England, anc this year at Adelaide and Melbourne. W. R. Hammond (England), with three, is the only other batsman with more than one innings of 200 or more. Bradman has made a century against England in each of his five Test appearances in Melbourne. His biggest Test scores are: 334, 1934 ; 304, 1930; 270, 1937; 254, 1930 ; 232, 1930; 224, 1934; 212, 1937.
