This week the weather has been thy hottest this summer. Napier and Hastings.—Cloudy aud overeast in the morning, clearing toward midday and becoming tine aud warm. Aloderate north-east breeze. Auckland. —Fine but cloudy with a fresh northerly wind and a heavy haze. Temperatures were warm, and the barometer was steady at 30in. Christchurch.—Light rain fell intermittently during the morning from a heav-ily-overcast sky. A strong north-east breeze blew in the afternoon with a few more points rain. The maximum temperature was 61.1 deg. The barometer .fell during the day, but at 7 p.m. was steady at 29.97. Dunedin. —The sky was overcast and the barometer was unsteady in the afternoon falling to 29.95 in. The maximum temperature was 02deg., and there was again practically no wind.
