No doubt we will tread on someone’s toes, but things have to be put on a proper working basis. I’m not a banker—and there is not one in the party—but I have made a close and long study of fundamentals, and I’ll see the precipice as soon as anyone. We have a responsibility to everyone. Does anyone Suggest we are not going to consider very seriously any matter ou which we intend to legislate?” Im asked. “My honour is at stake as well as your interest, and I am not going to sacrifice you or my honour in anything I do.”
