Nine Fishermen Rewarded

Nine fishermen from Portsoy, a desolate village sixty miles north of Aberdeen, arrived in London recently to receive from Sir lan Hamilton the Prunier Trophy for the largest herring catch of the season—2sl,ooo fish, weighing forty-six tons, and worth £337.

Their skipper, Joe Mair, the tallest and the oldest of the crew, received the trophy. He and bis two sons own the drifter Boy Andrew, on which the record catch was hauled in twelve hours.

The fishermen have received £25 with the trophy, which is presented by Mme, Prunier to encourage herring fishing.
