Westport Meeting. The Westport Jockey Club’s autumn meeting is to be held on Saturday and Monday, Marell 20 and 22. The programme includes six galloping and two trotting events each day. The stakes total £1420, and a gold-mquuted whip will be presented io the rider of the winner of tlie big event each day, ami a gold-mount-ed whip to the driver of the Granity Handicap Trot on the first day. The Westport club’s meeting opens the Coast circuit, as Greymouth, Kumara, Reefton, and Nelson meetings follow on. Nominations will close with the secretary, W. T. Slee, Westport, at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2.

Making Satisfactory Progress. The two-year-old Siega, by Siegfried from Ahrichlus, has made good progress of late, and may be given her first race at the Franklin meeting next month. This filly shaped well in a recent sprint over three furlongs, and when she has had the necessary experience should develop into a useful sort.
