Arrangements for Jubilee Show

.’Tlie management committee of the Wellington Kennel Club met last week to make final arrangements for the running of the jubilee show, to be held next Wednesday and Thursday. The resignation of Mr. R. N. Elliott from the committee was accepted with regret, and the hon. secretary was requested to write a special letter to Mr. and Mrs. Elliott expressing the club's appreciation of their valuable services. A presentation will lie made to them shortly. * It was decided to consent to the date for the-Wellington District Cocker Spaniel ('lull’s ribbon parade being changed to March .13.

A report sfated that no arrangements had been made, for letting floor space for a cigarette and drinks stall, and members were instructed to make inquiries for any likely person agreeable to open such stall.

The following additional officers were appointed Ring stewards. Tor Mr. Hunt on the first day. non-sporting dogs. Mr. Nicol; for Mr. Hunt on the second day, toy broods, Mrs. Weeds: for Mr. Redfearn, terriers, Mr. Hinchliff; for Mr. Taylor, sporting dogs, Mr. Laws; awaid stewards. Miss Aitken and Mr. Bothell; supervisor, Mr. Edgar; assistant, Mr. ■Hook. .

The committee will form a working bee this afternoon to erect the benching,

The president, Mr. Edgar, spoke in appreciation of the assistance he bad had during the year from the committee. Several members replied, giving full measure of praise for the outstanding work of Mr. Edgar himself. The secretary was asked to write formally to the president wishing him an enjoyable visit to England. He will sail on March 6. A similar letter is to be forwarded to Mr. A. P. Smith, who is also leaving for a trip to the Old Country.

Over 300 dogs had already entered for the coming show, representing nearly every breed recognised by the kennel club. Judging will commence early on Wednesday morning, and will proceed all day. Several "variety” classes will be judged in the evening for the benefit of the public, and the grand parade will be held at 7.30 p.m. on the second night of the show. The public is being asked to indicate by vote its idea of the most popular dog in the show.
