Speaking of the attention and appreciation shown by the girls of the Island Bay Convent at a recent concert, Mr, H. Temple White, at last night's meeting of tho Wellington Harmonic Society, said that it was a great joy to have children in the audience because their appreciation was so spontaneous and sincere. “Adults," he said, “smile and clap, but that may be only because it is the thing to do: you can never tell what they really are thinking. When children like- the entertainment, they leave no doubt about their appreciation; and if they don’t like it, they show it plainly.’’
