WHEAT FOR FLOUR

* South Australia’s Claims The suitability of South Australian wheat for bakers because of its dryness and its high gluten content, was stressed by the Hou. H. G. Hawkins, M.L.C. (South Australia), in an interview with “The Dominion” last night. Mr. Hawkins, who is visiting Wellington in the course of a tour of New Zea land, had an interview yesterday with the Minister of Industries and Commerce (Hon. D. G. Sullivan), and discussed wiht him the possibility of the New Zealand Government buying South Australian wheat. He assured the Minister it would mix wonderfully well with New Zealand floui. “Mr. Sullivan told me a good deal of whatt would be needed this year because of the light harvest,” Mr. Hawkins said, “and that the Government would be buying on the best market. “We are hoping to be able to make the price right so that it may be possible to revive the South Australian wheat trade to New Zealand.”
