Retrial of Hastings Woman

More than a dozen men were challenged when a jury was being empanelled at the opening in the Supreme Court, Wellington, yesterday, of the fourth trial of Mrs. Isabel Annie Aves, of Hastings, on seven charges of using an instrument with intent to procure a miscarriage.

The Chief Justice /Sir Michael Myers) presided. The Crown prosecutor at Napier. Mr. IT. B. Lusk, conducted the prosecution, and Mr. C. G. E. Harker; Waipawa, appeared for accused. i The court was cleared. The case for the Crown will be concluded this morning.
