The Rev. IL D. Lord, a Church of England missionary who has been on furlough in England, was a passenger by the Rotorua which arrived at Wellington yesterday. After spending two or three weeks in Auckland, Mr. Lord, accompanied by his wife, will leave for Melbourne en route for China for another five years’ stay at Shantung. lie has already spent 20 years in China. The mission, which is under the auspices of the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel, was opened in 1879. There are now about 20 missionaries.
