Second Outbreak in 15 Months 70 MEN OUT OF WORK Dominion Special Sekvicf Tauniarililtii, February 7. Fire destroyed the King box factory at Taumarunui at 1 o’clock this morning. The outbreak was noticed by the night-watchman at a fairly early stage, but although be made immediate use of the factory fire-hose the flames spread rapidly and the building was soon blazing from end to end. Two rooms were burnt out in a stall’ residence alongside. The mill plant was totally destroyed ogether with 2000 butter boxes. The factory, which was insured for £4OOO, was gutted by fire 15 months igo Until work is reorganised 70 men will be out of employment. The origin of the fire is a mystery.
